Kate was sitting at her computer looking at the weather forecast in Forks. It has been too long since she last seen her extended family, and how she missed them so! She could see that it would be raining and cloudy later on in the day. This was just perfect. it was very early in the morning still dark. Most humans would still be asleep. It would be safe for her to run to forks, but that would be such a far run, so it looked like she would fly. Garrett had already booked her flight, Bless his heart, what a good husband he was. She would be making this trip alone. Garrett had some other plans that he just could not get out of. He would met her there in a few days time. Or at least that was the plan. She never really knew with him, he was always just so busy. Kate never knew what that boy would do.
-Fast forward a couple hours-
After a long goodbye to the love of her life, and a shorter but just as sad goodbye to the rest of her small family, she boarded the flight. She was making this trip alone. The rest of her family, had other plans, of course. It was like Kate was the only one who cared anymore. Of course that was not at all true, this was just not a good time for her family. It was just starting to become light out, when they landed. It looked as if it was going to be sunny, the forecast must have lied to her. She knew she would have to hurry, or she would get caught in the sun. So from the airport, she just started off running to the Cullen's home. she knew the area well. She just did not feel right taking a taxi, she was not going to risk that. If it did get sunny, and she was in a taxi cab, that would not be good. Not good at all! So she had to stay in the woods, she could not be seen. The sun continued to rise, threading to burst thought the clouds. As it did Kate took extra care to stay 100% hidden and away from Humans. This of course made her run a little longer, but what vampire did not like running?
It took Kate about 2 hours to get from the airport to the familiar clearing. Oh how she knew this cleaning all too well. It had been 10 years since she has been here, and ten years since she found her Garrett. Her Garrett which she missed very much at the moment. But she would get over it. Seconds later and Kate slowed to a walk, as she walked passed the tress and out into the beautiful sun light. She would make a mental note to make sure to pick the date of her next 'vacation' better. Her skin of course started to sparkle, like she just took a bath in glitter or something. To this day, Kate had to stop and look at herself for a second in the sun. It still took her breath away, her skin was just so beautiful in the sun. To bad no one could see her like this, besides others who sparkled.
Kate let out a sigh as she walked up to the Cullen's door and rang the bell. Besides for Alice, she hoped that this visit would be a happy surprise. This was not really a planed visit, but there was never surprising Alice. It just depended on if Alice told the rest of the family, or kept this secret to herself. Kate had nothing with her besides a small bag full of money and identification. She really did not need anything, the Cullen's would only push things upon her. But this was normal. When Edward came to stay with her, Kate was guilty of pushing new clothing and such upon him. They made each other feel at home, they were family. Kate just waited, hoping people were home. If not, she would try Bella's, Edward's and Renesmee's little cottage.
