Challenge Twenty-Four: Mundane Monday What Aro does when there is nothing to do? No planning, no power, no killing.
How Unusual, No Plans
There was always something to plan it seemed, but today was one of those rare days. Aro sat in the main chamber. The guards were scattered around though it would take less than a second to get to Aro's side. After all they couldn't allow anything to happen to their Master. Marucs and Caius were presently absent for the moment. Aro not having any plans, having nothing to do was so very rare. It was unusual. Different. He didn't like to much. After all there should always be something to do. Something to plan, but no not a thing. There was absolutely nothing Aro had plan. There were no vampires that needed to be destroyed. Today everyone seemed to be following the one law they set forth: keep the secret. This one law could be broken in so many ways. It simply did not surprise Aro when the were forced to destroy another vampire. It was expected at least every so often there would be a vampire that would have to be destroyed. It was apart of who they were. The Volturi. They were in power and they would make sure everyone knew that.
Today there was nothing to do. No one to threaten, no one to kill, nothing to learn, or even satisfy his curiosity. It was so very rare. But he had been alive for around two thousand years. It was still rare. He would often always have something to do. Something to plan. Most of it dealt with power. He was power-hungry and would risk anything for power. Aro rarely kept up with the days or even the years any more. They all went by so quickly he barely noticed, but he was always busy. There was always something he had to do. Always something he had to enforce. Something he needed to think about, but today? No, nothing. His thoughts were focused on power, but there was nothing to plan. Everything was going as it should. Though he wouldn't mind gaining more talents. This was one thing he would always want. More talents it would make the Volturi that more powerful. There were times when he would not focus on power. There was one person who he would often think about that had not one thing to do with power. Sulpicia. His wife.
Aro loved his wife. He loved her deeply, but would give her up for power. She knew this. It upset her this he was well aware of. But there was not a thing he would change about it. Over time she had adjust after all it had been nearly two thousand years since they've been together. They had learned to adjust they knew each other well. Aro knew Sulpicia loved him with all she had, but he could not return that love fully. He would always want power more. Nothing would change his mind on how much he craved power not even his wife. Aro would spend time with Sulpicia when he had time. After all he was always so very busy, but today he was not. A smile graced Aro's features perhaps today would be a day to spend with his wife. To focus on her for once. He would always want to think about power even with his wife, but if he forced himself he could focus on his wife. And her alone.
Aro rose to his feet signaling the guard to remain. There were guards all through the castle. They did not have any visitors today, no plans for anything. Aro walked quietly through the castle. If one was unfamiliar with the layout one could very well get lost. Aro have lived here all his life he knew every thing about his home. Aro picked up Sulpicia's scent easily as he reached their room. He loved her scent it was always refreshing to know she was so very close by. He did love his wife and would do almost anything to make her happy, to see her smile. There were some things he simply would not give up not even for her. But for the most part she was happy, content he did spend some time with her. Aro open the door closing it quietly behind him. Sulpicia sat on the couch with a book in her hands. Instantly her eyes looked at Aro a smile gracing her lips. Aro smiled in return it seemed like a long time since he had seen his wife. Every time he saw his wife he was often happier. He loved seeing her smile as well he loved hearing her laugh, he loved everything about her. She was absolutely perfect.
